New Year Resolutions!

Happy New  Year!

Celebrating New Year’s Eve has never been a festive time during the holiday season.  It was always an opportunity for me to believe I was making a smart and safe decision to stay put on New Year’s Eve, and enjoy a tasty roast on New Year’s Day!  Yet, the thought was always present that I should resolve to correct or enhance my life by believing in the hype of New Year Resolutions.  Resolutions are changes one conscientiously makes, well, I’m not so good with change!  In all my efforts throughout the years, I’ve never kept one resolution for any length of time.  I’ve been thinking about it, and realized I’m not good at voluntary situational changes.  I not only stink at New Year Resolutions, I also have never realized success during the Lenten season.   But maybe I’m doing it all wrong, I bring many things to fruition without much thought, so maybe the pressure of time constraints limits my chances of success.  So this year, I’m going to make small and attainable resolutions for the New Year, and leave the grandiose pronouncements for the pros!

Mary Ann’s New Year Resolutions!

-I resolve to not eat the frozen left over Christmas Cake till, Valentine’s Day!

-I resolve to lift weights 3 times a week, until I hate it and quit!

-I resolve to eat more slowly and chew food!

-I resolve to be the best I can be, and as evident by my list of New Year’s Resolutions, this is not one of the things I’m good at!

I hope that all the people who strive to adopt newly formed habits as a result of New Year’s Resolutions, find success!  For many of us, the mere pronouncement of resolutions causes stress and fear of failure, therefore I think I’ll stick to daily goals, that may change due to health, work, and weather! Have a wonderful last week of 2016!
